Writing Every Day
So how're we all doing on the Write Something Every Damn Day Challenge? Lots of people told me they were going to start on March 1, so all y'all ought to be closing in on two weeks.
I haven't been trying to write every day for the sake of writing every day for weeks now, but I'm pretty sure I haven't taken a day off since before President's Day for no other reason than workload. Happily, all that will change tomorrow. I finished a draft of the Vehm script today after a week of very hard work on it. This afternoon I sent if off to my manager, and I'm taking tomorrow off even though a slew of projects remain on my plate ó three spring immediately to mind ó and have frighteningly pending due dates.

I delayed my start date by a week, and then another week. Now it looks like I'll start in the last week of March or on April 1st (for which there are jokes to be made, etc. etc.). In the meantime, I've been either sketching out notes on a pet project of mine (every day) or blogging (every day), to get me warmed up for the marathon.
I haven't been explicitly keeping track.. but I'm almost certain that I've coded on at least one of my two projects every day since the original post. Most days I've done at least a few hours work on both of them. For better or worse.. it's pretty standard life at DigiPen. :)
Haven't started yet, what with the India trip coming up ... TOMORROW! Ack!
when I'm back and settled, though, I'm up for the challenge.
I like the "write every day" challenge idea, but given various scheduling constraints I decided to do a much wimpier version in which I read part of a novel every day. I had been missing recreational reading, and I must say it's been very rewarding. I've finished one book and am slowly making my way through another. Someday maybe I'll try the writing one . . .
:)
