When It Rains...
I got laid off yesterday. Although in retrospect I can't think of any reason it should have been a surprise, it was. Decipher issued the following statement:
Decipher announces today that effective January 23rd it is transferring responsibility for the RPG product lines from its Los Angeles office to Decipher headquarters in Norfolk, Va. We want to thank all of the Los Angeles RPG Studio staff, contract writers, and contract artists for the excellent product they have helped us create over the past two years. We are very proud of the award-winning products they helped us produce. Please direct any inquiries and information requests to customer.service@decipher.com.That wasn't the end of yesterday's festivities, though. Nosiree. After returning home, we were in need of Benedryl, so Stacey and I jumped into my Focus and drove down the block... and the car died. So we delivered the car to the place where I have it worked on. I'll find out all about that today, I imagine.
That, sadly, was also not the end of yesterday's festivities. When it rains, you see, it pours. Sitting around at about 9:30, after having watching a particularly awful The West Wing, I thought perhaps it would brighten spirits to take the dog on a walk. We got no further than the end of the block (within about fifteen feet of where the car died, actually) than we were nearly run over by a jackass in an SUV, and when we dodged up onto the curb, all three of us got sprayed by a skunk. We spent about three hours washing the dog, shopping for de-stinking supplies, ferrying laundry around, and so on. It was great.
So, yeah. Worst day in recent memory.
