Thanksgiving Travels

Early tomorrow morning Stacey and I depart for Minnesota, to arrive in the early afternoon just in time for Thanksgiving festivities (by which I mean Thanksgiving eating) at the Mathson household, where my parents, and perhaps others, will also be in attendance. Because we are leaving early, and because LAX will certainly be a friggin' zoo, I dropped Abby off at Urban Dog this afternoon. I think their webcam is still inoperative. (Urban Dog's webcam. I don't think Stacey's parents have a webcam. Though perhaps they should.)

This morning I finished designing playtest version 2.0 of Mythos 500, a card game I've been working on for Atlas Games. I'll be seeing John and Michelle on Saturday, and will hand over a copy to them so they can play with it a bit and give some feedback. I like the way Mythos 500 is turning out. The game play revolves around a unique mechanic (unique as far as I know, anyway) and though gameplay could be a little bit faster, that should improve as more playtesters learn the rules and cards, and the rough edges are continuously filed off. The best news is that people seem to enjoy playing it.

I really need to get some serious screenwriting work done, but I'm currently mired in the difficult and demoralizing story-breaking portion of about three different potential projects.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
