Ten Thousand Lakes

I have decided that the working title of the Ice Horror Project will be a geographical name — the name of the lake upon which the lodge and asylum in the story are built. Now all I have to do is name the lake.

It was quick work to discover a web page listing the names of a boatload (ha!) of Minnesota lakes, from which I culled the following list of potential names for a lake in a horror story:

Bad Axe Lake, Burnt Shanty Lake, Crooked Lake, Devil Track Lake, Devilfish Lake, Dragon Lake, Echo Lake, Extortion Lake, Falk Lake, Grave Lake, Hanging Lake, Hanging Horn Lake, Hogback Lake, Lords Lake, Mine Pit Lake, Minerís Lake, Pughole Lake, Rat Lake, Scalp Lake, Section 29 Lake, Side Lake, Six Mile Lake, Spider Lake, Split Hand Lake, Lake Thirteen, Weapon Lake, and Whisper Lake
Obviously, the actual location of the lake in question is moot; in the script, it will occur in the middle of nowhere about fifty miles south of International Falls. If it makes any difference, the thematic nature of the horror in the script will be tied to madness and control. Also, there will be power tool deaths and perhaps a big explosion. There will not be Indian burial grounds or the ghosts of surly lumberjacks.

What say you, my preciouses? Vote for your favorite lake from the list above (or submit your own!) in the comments section of this post.
