Sticky and Wet

Two things I don't like are to be sticky, and to be wet. Things that are both wet and sticky are right out. That's why Stacey brought a print advertisement for Eggo's new syrup to my attention, which I will type in here in its entirety.

You're sticky and we're sorry.

To our friends:

For years, you've had to eat you Eggo® waffles with syrup that can drip from the bottle onto your fingers.

But now we are putting an end to your suffering.

We're introducing Eggo™ syrup, a great-tasting complement to American's favorite waffles.

And even better, it comes in a high-tech, no-drop bottle, so our syrup will wind up on your food, not your fingers.

Eggo™ syrup.
Better late than never.

Needless to say, I'm very excited; I will definitely purchase this product. As long as the syrup tastes good, it will join the newly designed Joy dish detergent bottle-spout that does not leak all over the damn place as a kitchen staple at the Tidball household.

Something I don't understand, however, is why the registered trademark symbol appears the first time the Eggo brand is invoked, but the whitebread trademark symbol is used thereafter. One imagines that there is Sound Legal Reasoning behind this.
