Stacey and I went to

Stacey and I went to see Mike Daisey's one man show, 21 Dog Years, on Monday night. It was an enjoyable presentation about Daisey's two-year stint as an employee of Amazon.com in Seattle. This was mostly played for laughs, but the show genuflected often enough toward what we can learn individually and societally from the dot com boom-and-bust that you feel like you've seen something more than a stand-up routine. While this was neither the best nor worst live show I've ever seen, the clear lesson is that I should see more live entertainment, because there's just something good about real people on a real stage.

I don't know what the plans are for the show at this point, but Daisey has written a 21 Dog Years book for those of you who'd like to follow along at home.

It bears mentioning that the stage that was used for this one-night-only-in-Los-Angeles presentation is normally used for a show called Puppetry of the Penis.
