Stacey and I had a low-key weekend, which was a complete godsend. We brought Abby for an interview at Urban Dog, the cage-free kennel where we plan to bring her when we vacation, our previous dog-sitter having gotten out of the business. Other than that, we did laundry, took care of some Quicken business, watched some TV, and made pizzas. Oh, and Stacey's training for a half-marathon, which involved a 70 minute run on Sunday.

We also caught about half of Office Space on Comedy Central. It reminded me what a fine movie it is without looking like much of anything at all. Funny, nicely written, well cut, and with a pass at being about something. Paraphrasing one bit of wisdom that hit close to home, "If your only motivation is to not get fired, you'll only work hard enough not to get fired." Check it out again if you haven't already seen it twice.

Things are progressing nicely on my current script, a sci-fi piece called Gravity that looks an awful lot like Star Wars no matter how many things I change to make it less like Star Wars. In all seriousness, I've finally reached an outline I'm happy with, and have twenty pages of actual script behind me as well. It sure would be nice to devote a big chunk of every day to writing instead of being a telephone-answering rudeness buffer, but in the meantime, at least I'm still making good progress.

In other news, I had been under the impression that chunky milk only occurred in those teen comedies about dorm life. As it turns out, chunky milk also occurs at work. It can even occur before the expiration date on the carton arrives.

And finally, in additional other news, Christopher is going nowhere good with this drug problem.
