Saturday Morning
I'm ripping Christmas CDs into iTunes while I pay bills and deal with the week's mail. "Please do not discard," it says on the outside of this letter from BankOne. Which, of course, turns out to be a credit card solicitation. Bastards. Here's one from "The Neighborhood (Built by MCI)." Yeah, you soul-less monolith. That's gonna fool me into thinking you give a shit about me and my neighbors.
In MCI-related news, check out this weekend's This American Life, in which a nice woman attempts to get satisfaction from said monolith of telephony. I can't find the specific broadcast on their website, so you'll just have to tune in. Ira Glass is my hero. Almost moreso than Garrison Keillor.
We bought Stacey a new computer last nightóa 12" G4 iBook. She got a raise at her performance review, which was retroactive to the middle of last year, which resulted in an unexpected check. So hey, new computer. She's been smiley and gushy. It's cute. Since it's new, it's got Panther pre-installed. I got Panther discs from a Decipher co-worker who moonlights at the Apple Store, but I haven't decided whether to install in on Kaufman (my 12" PowerBook) or not. I prefer the basic Aqua system appearance to the brushed-chrome window dressing, but I crave the new ExposÈ function. Anyone using Panther and have an opinion?
In closing, you are instructed to view my Mr. Picassohead, "Untitled," then create your own Mr. Picassohead, then post your creation's URL as a comment for my amusement.
