News, Both Bad and Good, About the Temperature Situation

The bad news is that our heater was broken, and it's been in the fifties in our house for the last few days.

The good news is that the Heater Guy came and fixed it today.

The bad news is that since the heater has never been used before (it was brand-new when we bought the house) it is currently expelling stinky, stinky odors (or, odours, if you're into that kind of thing) into our house.

The good news is that they are warm odors.

The bad news is that the odors set off all the smoke alarms, and the Heater Guy told me to leave all of the windows in the house open for at least a day.

The good news is that this makes the house less stinky.

The bad news is that it makes the house more cold.

The good news is that for the last two nights, we've had cozy fires in our fireplace to warm things up.

The bad news is that, last night while I was arranging wood in the fireplace, I got a splinter. And not only was it a splinter, it was an ashy splinter that broke off every time you tried to grab it with tweezers. So I had to dig it out of my finger with a pin. So my finger bled. So I had to put a band-aid on my finger. And having a band-aid on your finger makes it hard to type.

But, overall, the news is good. Because the heat works now.
