National Games Week Unveiled
Mark Simmons, the indefatigable publisher of Games Quarterly Magazine and Games Quarterly Catalog, has spent the last six months or so working like a madman to bring his vision for a national games week to fruition.
Now, the behind-the-scenes track has been laid and the event's being rolled out into the public eye. The idea's simple:
During National Games Week, November 21ñ27, 2004, people across the country will be encouraged to turn off the television, step away from the computer and play a game. Any sort of game will do, such as board games, card games, role playing games, miniature games and family and party games.Check out the National Games Week website and then make plans to host or attend a game day that week. Even if you're a hardcore gamer and you play games all the time, consider setting up a special game day that week and inviting some friends or family who aren't gamers to join you and play some games. Gaming is a pastime that could stand to grow in this country, and National Games Week is a great opportunity for you to help make it happen.
