Much fun was had on
Much fun was had on my birthday. To begin, according to one of Decipher's most enlightened policies, I had the day off. I had planned to finish the second draft of Gravity for distribution to my writing group, but that had to wait until after I went off to get a quote on refinishing the wood floors at the new house (which are currently under carpet). After that was done, I returned home, read all the birthday cards that had come in the mail, and worked on the script for five hours, not finishing it.
Jer and Tonia had invited me for dinner, since Stacey was out of town for a conference, so I headed over there, where Margaret also took a break from thesis writing, and much good conversation was had by all.
After dinner, although I probably ought to have gone back home and finished the script, I instead went to the Bicycle Club and played poker until about 2:00 am. Much fun was had, though it was ultimately a money-losing adventure. I was actually going to sit down and do some middle-of-the-night writing when I got home, but after walking the dog, she waited impatiently for me by the gate to the upstairs ("Hello... It's the middle of the night... It's time for bed...") so I had pity on her and crashed.
I finished the script before work on Thursday, so all was well that ended well. Though, on second thought, we'll see if it actually ended well when I get the writing group critique on Tuesday.
