LotR PDFage Announced
I heard it from Last-LA-Decipherian-Standing Kieran Yanner a week or so ago, but now Decipher has made public their plan to release the remaining LotR RPG books I worked on as PDFs via Drive Thru RPG (motto: "The ugliest site ever, NOW WITH MORE ALL CAPS THEN EVER BEFORE!").
While the fact that Decipher has announced this plan publicly may well reduce the likelihood that it will happen, I'm optimistic. First, I know that Kieran himself is doing the work, and I have personally witnessed Kieran getting shit done. Second, there are only so many logistical hurdles involved with publishing a PDF.
Now, I'm so far removed from the LotR RPG at this point that my personal concern with whether these books are ever released is mostly limited to a vague desire to be rid of the "pending publication" asterisk behind those titles on the list of professional publications that accompanies my resume. But beyond that, it sure would be nice for the game's fans — assuming any remain — to be able to get this long-promised material in their hot little hands and, I don't know, use it in their games. The three career books especially really do improve the system.
So, anyway, here's hoping.
(Note: "PDFage," regardless of how it may appear, is pronounced "pee-dee-EFF-edge," and certainly not "PID-faj," or "pee-dee-FAJ," or any lunacy of that variety.)

It's at times like this that I'm reminded of Grampa Simpson's immortal words: "Where's my check?!"
Although I suppose I should start with a friendly, "Hey, how's it going?" first.
