It has come to my attention that idiocy has four syllables. Which, of course, it does. "ID-e-uh-cee." Which, of course, makes Friday's haiku not a haiku.
I am tempted to say that this misuse of "idiocy" is ironic, but considering all the blah-blah-blah whatever that has surrounded improper usage of the concept of irony since the whole Alanis Morissette deal, I'm going to back away from making any such a claim.
