International Day of Reflection

April 2004 marks the tenth anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. The United Nations has designated today, April 7, as an International Day of Reflection on the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.

At noon today the United Nations will observe a minute of silence. The Secretary-General further "urge[s] all people, everywhere, no matter what their station in life, whether in crowded cities or remote rural areas, to set aside whatever they might be doing at noon on that day, and pause to remember the victims."
