I'm on hold with Sony.
I'm on hold with Sony. Our Tivo is broken and there is only one person at Sony who gives out work order numbers.
Our Tivo hasn't been working for a while, and between Stacey and I we've exhausted pretty much all of the possibilities other than "There is something horribly wrong inside the box." The Tivo still works to record programs, pause TV, and so forth, but it is unable to download the program data that lets it know what shows are on which channels at what times. This is a big problem, because being able to tell it to "Record The West Wing when it's on" is much, much better than telling it to "Record on channel X from X:00 to X:00 on X night" and still winding up recording pre-emptions and reruns in that time slot.
I'm still on hold. Perhaps this is Sony's passive-agressive way of getting us to just buy a new Tivo instead of fixing the old one. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't considered it, but buying a new one would be much more alluring if it didn't also entail buying a new lifetime service subscription.
Still on hold. Perhaps they've forgotten about me.
