If you travel out of town to visit family and friends, as Stacey and I did this past weekend, try to do it when there is no holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) or event (wedding, family reunion, and so forth) and you will have a much more relaxing trip. Holidays and events tend to develop near-sentient lives of their own, and are merciless once they suck you into their orbit.
