I resolved recently to begin giving blood regularly, having never done so in my life. I went to the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles site to find the closest donor facility to home or work. There I discovered that having received chemotherapy renders me ineligible to donate for life. Bummer.

Stacey mentioned that one of her co-workers is also ineligible to donate (she weighs less than 110 pounds) and so volunteers at blood drives instead. Perhaps I'll look into that. If I'm volunteering time instead of bodily fluids, however, I think there are other causes that interest me more.
