Everything Old is New Again

Over at Kung Fu Monkey, John Rogers ends his rather diverse bio with this:

He plainly needs to focus.

Well, as they say on the Internets, "Me too."

This Friday will be my last day at Tomo. Next week I rejoin Atlas Games as a full-time employee; the official announcement was posted to the Atlas blog this morning.

I'll be working from home in Los Angeles on a wide variety of projects, from laying out RPG books to editing game text to sifting the slush pile for that next elusive diamond. I've got experience with pretty much every step of tabletop game development from concept to loading dock, so I'm pretty sure they won't run out of work for me to do.

Overall, this is a change spurred by two forces: First, it's an opportunity to shift my focus to work on games that I'm simply more passionate about. Second, and more importantly, it's an opportunity to work full time from home with a nigh-insane level of daily flexibility. And that's going to come in really, really handy come January and come Teaspoon.

All in all, it feels like coming home, from pretty much every angle.

Congrats! Sounds like a great deal to me. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can cook up with the devilish minds of Atlas once again. :)

Best wishes on the new position, Jeff. Are you going to go sit in your car and let it idle for 30-60 minutes morning and night to replicate the LA commuting experience?

Cool! I bet this means you'll have more blog-time! I anxiously await Serenity in 25 words or less!

And shouldn't you be upgrading to Tablespoon by now? How's Stacey feeling about the upcoming addition to the cutlery?

Actually, my plan to replicate the LA commuting experience was going to be to hold a running weed whacker to my head while listening to NPR.

And shouldn't you be upgrading to Tablespoon by now?

Probably, but I'm worried that if I set a family precedent whereby your nickname changes when you put on weight, people are going to start calling me "Two Bills" in the very near future.

Yay! Now I can spread my crap over *both* of our desks! I think your desk will become the dislay area for my toys/books/etc. Just kidding. Hope you have tons of fun in your new job.

PS I'm taking your stapler.
