Cthulhu 500 Wins Origins Award!

The winners of the 2004 Origins Awards were announced yesterday at Origins, and I'm ecstatic to report that Cthulhu 500 won the Callie for Best Traditional Card Game! Woo-hoo! ("Best Traditional Card Game" to distinguish it from collectible card games, which have their own category. The year of the award obviously refers to the release year, rather than the year in which the award is given.)
I'm really, really happy. Projects I've worked on have been nominated a half-dozen times over the past seven or eight years, but none received the award. It feels great to finally win, especially for a game where I was the primary designer, rather than a developer or editor.
Gamingreport.com has published a full list of this year's winners. The other highlight of the list is the fifth edition of Ars Magica, which won the Best Roleplaying Game award. Hearty congratulations to David Chart and everyone at Atlas Games. (Of course, ArM5's excellence is no news to all y'all who frequent jefftidball.com; I went on about how great it is back in December.)
And, in closing... Woo-hoo!
