Carniv�àle gets a tentative thumbs-up
Carniv�le gets a tentative thumbs-up after the first episode. Although individual scenes and the episode overall moved quite slowly, I was surprised, awed, and entertained often enough in the course of an hour that I'm anxious to see more. Will it be a long-term keeper? Too soon to tell, but I'll definately watch next week.
K Street did not impress me. It strikes me as show you'd have to know someone working on it to like. An interesting idea, I guess, but it falls down hard in execution. At the same time, you've got to respect Steven Soderbergh's constant, ballsy experimentation.
