Busy-ness

Not a lot of blogging going on last week, a trend that looks to continue for the next week at least. Last week's excuse amounts to an overabundance of work.

Work on [TOP SECRET] went at the double-time last week, because little writing will get done while I'm at GAMA next week, and my first 15,000 word milestone is next Friday. In future weeks of this project (which is scheduled to continue through March and April) I'll be able to hit all of my deadlines by putting in about three hours of work on this project each weekday, but last week I was basically putting in whole days.

The Valhalla pitch went very well; they liked my take on their comic book, and, after giving some input, have asked me to put together a treatment. From there it gets approval (or not, I suppose) from Gale Anne Hurd and Top Cow, and from there they want to package it with a director and/or star before shopping it around to studios. Once the project is set up at a studio the actual script-writing begins and yours truly gets some money out of the deal. I started the treatment on Thursday, so that was also taking up time on Thursday and Friday. I hope to have it done by the end of next week.

There were also a bunch of meetings sucking up time last week, both at Valhalla about the project there as well as general meetings with the likes of Village Roadshow and Mad Chance.

All of these meetings and projects have put a dent in the time available for Ice Horror re-outlining. The latest go-round with the outline has improved things a lot, but the inertia on that project sometimes becomes distressing.

I don't know if there will be blogging from GAMA or not. Probably will, because one of the secondary reasons you buy a laptop is so you can blog from your hotel. (The primary reason, of course, is so you can watch DVDs on airplanes.)
