Blog Block

Sometimes I just can't blog. I call up the "new post" screen, type in a sentence or two, despair at the banality of it all, and close the window. Sometimes this goes on for, oh, say, a week. How stupid is that? Like there's some jefftidball.com threshold of quality (har!) that I dare not fall below.

It's the same problem with writing, some days. There's so much good writing already, and it makes me despair and get all overwhelmed and hate the people who can write and have success.

If only I were a pirate.

But here's something good: I successfully contested a parking ticket that I unjustly received in Hollywood. "We have received your claim and found it to be valid," the Parking Violations Bureau writes. "Your citation(s) is/are being permanently dismissed."

The outline for the Fireborn adventure I'm writing this month has been approved. The Fire Within, it's called. Tomorrow, I start with text. Forty thousand words isn't that much; due on the first.

Charlie, my manager, is on safari in Africa. Good for him. He gave me notes on the first draft of Whisper Lake before I left. Those of you who have not read the first draft of Whisper Lake, don't despair. Your virgin eyes are being saved for the second draft.

Seriously, if only I were a pirate.
