AB 849

The California legislature has passed AB 849, a bill that would allow same-sex marriages in California. Governor Schwarzenegger intends to veto it. You should call him to express your opinion about that. Office hours were over and their voicemail was full when I tried about five minutes ago, but you can bet they'll hear from me in the morning.

You can reach the governor's office in Sacramento at 916-445-2841, in Los Angeles at 213-897-0322, and in San Diego at 619-525-4641. You can also send him an e-mail from the state's "E-mail the Governor" web page.

Update: Called them this morning, they were vaguely rude, told me they thought he had vetoed it already. Could find no news to that effect, so sent an e-mail for good measure.

I just (11:45 am) called the L.A. office of the governor. Guy I spoke to was very polite, made sure he had my opinion down correctly, and said he would forward it on to Sacramento. Perhaps you caught someone in a bad moment.
